A man was burnt to death in his house on Sunday morning at Nyankoba village in Nyamira
County.
According to the Nyankoba sub-location Assistant Chief Eric Marando, Harrison Moruri
(deceased) 70, was found burnt beyond recognition in his house where he stays alone at
Nyankoba top village.
"It was established that fire broke out from the inside of his living room, where neighbours
rushed to try and put it off in vain", said the chief.
He also added that the villagers tried to gain access to the deceased house but they realised the
door was locked from inside.
They broke the door and gained access to the burning house but it was too late to save him since
he had succumbed, he was burnt beyond recognition.
The police are carrying out investigations to the possible cause of the inferno.
The body has been transferred to the Gucha private hospital awaiting autopsy.
