World athletics heroine Hellen Obiri and author Silas Nyachwani bagged trophies as the best
trailblazer and best personality respectively for the year 2020.
The Gusii creative awards 2020 nominees were unveiled by the Tamra Creative Agency.
Artists and professionals from Kisii and Nyamira counties were awarded in different categories
in the annual accolade held on Sunday afternoon. This was the second edition.
Tamra agency CEO Joel Nyambane says the awarding affirm in commitment to supporting local
artists and boosting their content in the entertainment industry.
“Artists need continuous support and nurturing. They present talents into brands that heavily
invest in marketing our local content."
34 categories were nominated compared to last year which had 40 slots for the awarding.
Upcoming artist Vicky Young emerged overall winner as the best male artist of the year. Best
supporting actor of the year went to Antivirus while DJ of the year trophy was presented to DJ
Burney254. Administration police officer Jack Matara won the best video of the year.
