Petition filed seeking to halt the recruitment process of technical staff in Nyamira County

The recent recruitment of technical staff in Nyamira County might be halted after a resident moved to court to protest the process.

A Petition has been filed under a certificate of urgency seeking to halt the recruitment process of technical staff in the Nyamira County government.

The Employment and Labour Relations Court sitting in Nakuru presided over by Justice Hellen Wasilwa, certified the matter urgent and directed that the respondents be served. The same is scheduled for hearing on 7th July 2021.

The petition comes after another one that halted the appointment of Dr James Gesami as the Deputy Governor of Nyamira County is still pending a determination on July 22 2021.

As per the court documents, the petitioner who is a resident of Nyamira is citing malpractices in the recruitment process, hiring without budgetary approvals, discrimination, “unnecessary interview” questionnaire among others.

Governor Amos Nyaribo has been petitioned severally, something that is likely to affect service delivery to the residents of Nyamira.
