Private candidates who were caught with examination materials in Nyamira arraigned in court

9 out of 13 private candidates that were found in possession of examination materials were on Wednesday released on a personal bond of Shs 10,000 by a Nyamira Court.

It was established that they were conducting their ongoing examination under tight security.

They were arrested for allegedly having examination materials before examination time.

They were to be charged for allegedly having examination materials contrary to section 29 of the examinations act.

They appeared before Nyamira Principal Magistrate Maureen Nyigei where they pleaded not guilty to the offence.

The court was informed that on April 1, at Nyamira Boys Secondary School in Nyamira Town, they were allegedly found in possession of examination materials for chemistry paper 3 that was to be carried out that day,  they all denied the charge.

They were granted a personal bond of Shs 10,000 with a similar surety and the case will be mentioned on May 3, as hearing scheduled for July 13.
