Donya Aburi, Kisii County Woman Representative has condemned the weekly anti-government protests spearheaded by Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition Party leader Raila Odinga. Aburi said the weekly demos have become deadly and dangerous while distributing food to the needy students and families in Kitutu Chache South adding that the protests have only paralysed business and educational operations in major cities in Kenya.
She said Kenyans have not benefited from the protests since they began adding that children are unable to go to school and mothers are not able to freely operate their businesses for fear of looting. It has only left a trail of destruction and loss of lives saying a mother is now going to bury his son after being shot by the police.
The Woman Representative has urged Raila Odinga to explore other options saying he squandered the only clear path to State House after losing in the 2022 election saying Azimio leaders should ask themselves why they were defeated in 2022 presidential election when they had a clear path to State House and taking Kenyans to the streets will not solve anything.
Mr Odinga has maintained that he will not call off the weekly protests until his demands of high cost of living and opening of IEBC servers are addressed.
