After a 25-year career in the security docket, Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya has resigned to focus on politics.
Natembeya announced his intention to run for the Trans Nzoia governorship in the August elections.
In what is expected to be a highly competitive race to succeed incumbent David Khaemba, he will face Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa, Trans-Nzoia Woman Repe Janet Nangabo, Abraham Sing’oei, and Maurice Bissau, who both hold different positions at the office of Deputy President.
Others eyeing the Trans Nzoia Governor’s Seat include Philemon Samoei, Andrew Wanyonyi, and Moses Khaoya .
