Police have launched investigations in Gem, Siaya County, following the death of a 37-year-old primary school teacher.
Joseph Oluoch Owino’s body was found in a bush where he is suspected to have been killed.
According to neighbours, the deceased was a teacher at Kanyoto Primary School.
He went missing yesterday evening.
He had gone on a drinking session with his friends but never made it back home.
Ramula Sub-Location Assistant Chief Samuel Hezron Nyawalo said he was informed about the incident by the area village elder.
Nyawalo said the deceased might have been beaten as his body had bruises.
Mr Nyawalo confirmed that an individual identified as Elisha Odhiambo has been arrested concerning the matter.
The deceased has since been transferred to the Yala Sub-County Hospital Mortuary awaiting autopsy as investigations go on.
