A 48-year-old woman is alleged to have committed suicide by locking herself in her house and inhaling toxic carbon monoxide gas from her Jiko.
The woman identified as Rose Osore took her own life after sending a text message to her friend Catherine Nyawira at 4:00 am in the morning informing her that she was tired of living with High Blood Pressure.
Catherine decided to check on her friend at 7:30 am and found the house locked from inside, when she called out got no response.
She decided to sought for help from the neighbours who broke rose’s door and found her unconscious with the charcoal jiko on her bed.
They rushed her to a nearby hospital but the doctors confirmed she was dead from suffocation as a result of inhaling carbon monoxide.
