66-Seater Bus Crashes In Londiani

Several passengers are receiving treatment at Fort Ternan Sub-County Hospital in Kericho after a bus they were travelling in crashed along the Londiani-Muhoroni road.

The 3:00 a.m crash involved a Busia –bound bus belonging to Promise Company as confirmed by Kericho Traffic Police Commander Paul Kipkeu and there no fatalities reported.

The Kenya Red Cross said 40 people are receiving treatment at the Fort Ternan hospital while four were transferred to Kericho County Referral Hospital for specialized treatment.

According to Mr.Kipkeu, the bus was involved in the accident when the driver swerved and veered off the road while trying to avoid hitting another motor vehicle leading it to lane in a ditch.

“The bus belonging to Promise Company was involved in an accident when the driver George Otieno Okoth swerved and veered off the road while trying to avoid hitting another motor vehicle,” Mr Kipkeu said.

The passengers who were travelling from Nairobi to Busia suffered serious and minor injuries, including fractures.

The accident occurred at Tunnel trading centre along Londiani – Muhoroni road. This year, a number of accidents have occurred in Londiani where people have lost their lives as others have been left with injuries.
