The body of a 3 year old who was mauled by a crocodile at Ralayo beach, Siaya County on Saturday has finally been retrieved from the Lake Victoria.
The body was retrieved after a 24 hours long search by the locals.
Witnesses say that the body was found intact other than the few bruises caused by the crocodile.
In the meantime as the body awaits post-mortem at the Madiany sub-county hospital mortuary, local fishermen decry the rampant cases of crocodiles pleading that the government should find a way to contain the situation.
Rarieda MP Otiende Amolo visited the site noting the need of intervention to cab the recent attacks by the crocodiles and hippopotamus.
He promised the residents that the government would secure all the 3 beaches in Rarienda by fencing off the areas for local use.
