Labour Day, also known as May Day or International Workers’ Day, is celebrated on May 1 in most countries worldwide.
The holiday highlights the rights of workers and to acknowledge their invaluable contributions to society.
It holds significant importance in Kenya as it provides an opportunity to celebrate the hard work and dedication of workers across the nation.
Labour Day serves as a platform not only to honour their dedication but also to empower them with knowledge of their rights, shielding them from exploitation.
When commemorating Labor Day in Kenya, we reflect on the achievements of the labor movement, advocate for workers’ rights, and foster a sense of solidarity and unity among all Kenyan citizens.
In line with the Kenyan tradition, the Central Organization of Trade Unions Kenya (COTU-K) will host the labour Day festivities at the Uhuru Gardens in Lang’ata, Nairobi.
