Lionel Messi’s number 10 shirt at Barcelona has been passed down to Ansu Fati following the six-time Ballon d’Or winner’s move to Paris-Saint Germain.
Lionel Messi took the iconic number from Ronaldinho in 2008 following the Brazilian’s departure from Barcelona.
Barca considered leaving the number unused for the 2021-2022 season but LaLiga rules that first-team players must wear numbers 1-25 made that difficult.
Despite being just 18 years of age, Ansu Fati forms part of Barca’s history as a record-breaker and also with the Spanish national side.
