Deceased Kakamega MCA Phaustine Werimo’s former husband has obtained court orders to stop her burial.
The MCA who died on November 3 at a Kisumu hospital after a short illness had been separated from Mr. Ramadhan since 2011 and lived separately but Mr. Ramadhan wants her buried at his Mayoni home.
Funeral arrangements for Phaustine who was set to be buried on Saturday were stopped by orders issued by senior principal magistrate T. A.
Ramadhan claims that he is the MCA’s legal husband and should be given the right to decide where she should be buried while the respondents want Phaustine to be buried on a plot which she bought and build a home in Ichinga.
The magistrate set November 23 for hearing of the case in Mumias law courts.
