Police Constable Rachael Wamboi has been arrested for leaving her post at Matungulu Sub-County examination centre in Machakos County from 6 Pm -6 Am, during the KCSE period.
Earlier, she had lied to her colleague Constable Elias Kiptoo she was going for supper but instead she went drinking in town.
According to the police report, she reported back drunk and incapable of handling and securing her riffle.
She became violent and started assaulting her colleague and her boss Corporal Joshua Komen as the two tried to disarm her.
Corporal Komen her colleague, found her rifle without a magazine, an ammunition storage device, and upon questioning her, she refused to hand it over.
This occurrence made the two to inform the Chief Inspector of Matungulu Sub County Ijabo Hassan, who rushed to the scene and arrested her.
She was escorted to Tala Police station.
Chief inspector Hassan detailed that her position was filled and the examination container is well kept.
