Pastor in murder case to spend three more days in custody

Court has detained Pastor Joel Mogaka for three days to allow police to conduct further
investigations into the killing of his wife.
The embattled Seventh Day Adventist Church Pastor was arrested on Friday morning in Kisii
town over the murder of his wife.
Police Monday morning filed a miscellaneous application before Ogembo Law Court Chief
Magistrate Denis Mikoyan to have the suspect detained for three days to allow them to carry out
further investigations.
Mogaka appeared in Court alongside his other accomplice; Fredrick Obure.
In an affidavit by Corporal William Bonuka, police say they need to record witness statements,
carry out autopsy as well as mental assessment for the accused.
The Magistrate ordered that the two appear in Court on Friday.
Mogaka will be held at Ogembo Police station while Obure will be held at Kenyenya police
station.
It is alleged the pastor played part in the killing of his wife; Hyline Nyakwara on Thursday night
at Omosasa village Gucha.
