A woman who allegedly stole Sh4 million from Treasury Chief Administration Secretary Nelson Gaichuhie’s home where she worked as a house maid been arrested at a witchdoctor’s home.
Police say the woman together with her husband were arrested at the witchdoctor’s house in Gachie where she had gone to “seek protection” from being arrested.
“The detectives arrived in time as the suspect was being immersed in a basin containing a concoction of blood drawn from a dead fowl, whose features resembled those of a cockerel”, said the DCI in a statement.
Despite the elderly witchdoctor’s attempt to chant incantation to deter the sleuths from arresting the woman, she was apprehended.
She led the police to her mother’s home in Ithanga, Murang’a county, where Sh1.57million was recovered, including jewelry which she allegedly stole from her boss.
DCI has warned criminals not to waste time seeking witchcraft services as it will not save them from arrest.
