Wajir Governor Ahmed Mukhtar yesterday led a reshuffle of the County’s Executive Committee members.
This regardless of claims by impeached Governor Mohammed Abdi Mahmoud that Mukhtar is acting in violation of the law.
The reshuffle that seemed like a reorganization of the devolution unit, affected five members of his executive committee.
Ibrahim Abdi Mohammed was moved to head the Finance docket from Education and Youth Affairs.
Bare Abdulahi Idris will be in charge of the Finance and Audit docket switching positions with Abdullahi Mohammed Hassan who will take over the Manufacturing Investment and Industrial Development docket.
Ismail Sheikh Issak was moved from the Finance docket to Health Services; and Hussein Sugow Gedi from the Health docket to Education.
Yussuf Abdi Gedi left the ICT and Trade office and took over the Agriculture and Livestock docket; Ahmed Sharif Bulle becomes the new ICT and Trade CEC from the Agriculture and Livestock docket.
The reshuffle is to take effect instantly and handovers completed by May 31.
Meanwhile, political tension has remained in Wajir County following former governor Mahmoud’s threats of going back to his office.
