Kenya women’s national sevens team is set to face South Africa after being pooled together ahead of 2022 World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series to be held Santiago, Chile.
The lionesses are in Group D with Chile, South Africa and China. Those who qualify will be promoted to the HSBC World Seven Series which will be held in 2023.
In the other women’s pool Poland, Argentina, Belgium and Papua New Guinea are in Group E with Japan, Kazakhstan, Colombia and Mexico in Group F.
The World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series was launched in February 2020 to boost rugby sevens’ development across the globe. The competition acts as the promotion pathway for the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series with the men’s and women’s Challenger Series winners becoming a core team on the World Series for the following season.
