Leaders mourn the late MP Oroo

Leaders and friends Tuesday morning gathered at the home of the late Bonchari MP John Oroo to condole with his family.

Oroo died Monday evening at Aga Khan Hospital Kisumu where he had been admitted to two weeks ago.

Kisii Governor James Ongwae said the deceased has left a mark in the education sector.

“He was a dedicated civil servant and politician who served the nation in various capacities. May his soul rest in peace.”

Senator Prof Sam Ongeri and Woman Representative Janet Ongera too condoled with the family saying the deceased was willing to leave a legacy in his leadership.

Youth leader Joel Okengo said he managed to put an improved infrastructure in schools, a thing he said had been experienced by past regimes.

“We will have to follow in his footsteps. He was a quiet but hardworking leader. He lived a simple life despite having been elected on majority votes.”

Oroo is survived by two widows; Pamela Oroo and Teresa Bitutu. The family has six children.
